The Win Win Parenting for The Autism Spectrum Child conference that Brian King has created is so informative. I am so glad my husband and I were able to attend and see Brian at the Autism One conference this year. His presentation is not just for parents. Teachers, professionals or anyone else in a relationship with a child/adult on the autism spectrum can benefit from Brian’s insight. Brian is an amazing individual, living and blessed with Asperger’s. This allows Brian to share his experiences with the world, because he “get’s it”. He strives to help neurotypicals and spectrumites understand each other, so we can all live in harmony. It has been a pleasure for me to have gotten to know Brian and share his abilities and work with others. I felt dedicated to coordinate my resources and do everything in my power to be able to bring Brian King to our community. He will share his unique knowledge to help fellow parents and our school districts to better understand our children and students on October 16th at Parkside in Kenosha WI.

Challenges with communication are one of the defining characteristics of autism spectrum disorders. Any good employment outcome must involve addressing communication issues for both sides. Fortunately, there are many basic, simple supports which dramatically improve communication in the workplace (other environments) for people on the spectrum. But different supports are appropriate for different people, and making smart choices means knowing the spectrum of options and when to use them. Brian King is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is on the autism spectrum himself and consults exclusively on relationship issues around autism spectrum disorders. He will discuss his “No More Misunderstandings” communication techniques and how they apply to providing adult services, interviewing situations, and the work place.
