I really have the utmost respect for people who work with children with disabilities. It takes alot of patience and willinging to sacrifices alot of yourselves. I did it for a short period and it was one of the most draining experience.

Leslie there are days I go to bed practically in tears from the exhaustion of raising three boys on the Autism Spectrum. That is why it is critical for parents to develop a support system they can draw strength from in terms of moral as well as tangible support. People who you trust with your child(ren) and whom your child(ren) trust to stay with them while get a much needed break to recharge your battery. If my wife and I didn’t have that we would have burnt out long ago.
Yes, I agree and glad to hear you have a support system. I wish you and your wife the best of luck. My sister works one on one with children austism now and she often tells me how reward it is.
