Learn to KICK the CAN'T out of yourself!
When someone asked me how my morning is going I responded, "Filled with possibilities." I paused to ask myself why I responded that way.
The reality is that each moment of life is filled with possibilities, possibilities in the form of opportunities and choices.
I realized I responded that way because when I was asked the question I was thinking about one of my to do's today that I'm rather excited about.
The other side of the coin
However, I imagine if I'd been focusing on a job I dreaded going to I may have responded, "More of the same." Yuck, what a way to feel.
Again, it all comes down to what options you feel are available for you each morning. There are some very close to me who in one instance are grateful to have a job but for very good reasons aren't happy in the one they have. So much of the day is spent watching the clock and getting through it instead of growing through it.
TGIF
I see so many people celebrating hump day and shouting TGIF from the rooftops (not literally). But this makes me wonder whether they're so excited about the weekend because they feel that's the only part of their lives that truly belong to them.
Such that it's only possible to fully live on the weekend, or it's only possible to shut out the have to's of the week when the week ends.
Something to think about.
What about today?
I admit that I allow myself to get over scheduled during the week and I'm considering the possibilities that will allow me to achieve a better balance in my professional life.
I enjoy the weekend as much as anyone for the reason that I can give my undivided attention to the woman I love and the children that make me a better person every single day.
But regardless of what the calendar says there is one possibility that drives me every day and is a source of considerable motivation, that is, the possibility that I may be helpful in some way.
What are the possibilities for you today?
